2008-07-20Document how aptitude handles double-quotes.Daniel Burrows1-0/+6
Because of #260446, apt configuration values can't contain double-quotes, and so aptitude uses an ad-hoc escaping technique for them (using '' to represent a double quote). This is now documented in the files where it actually matters, which hopefully will prevent a recurrence of #483459.
2008-02-03Make the boilerplate in each defaults file more sensible.Daniel Burrows1-6/+1
2008-02-02Construct aptitude-defaults files from the translated Section descriptions ↵Daniel Burrows1-0/+58
of past versions. The technique used was as follows: (a) get the .mo files of a version that had translated descriptions installed in /tmp/aptitude-tmp. (b) create /tmp/aptitude-tmp2/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES (c) run the following script in the root of the aptitude directory: LANGS=$(for x in *.po; do echo ${x%.po}; done) for lang in $LANGS; do cp /tmp/aptitude-tmp/share/locale/$lang/LC_MESSAGES/aptitude.mo /tmp/aptitude-tmp2/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES || continue (export LC_ALL=de_DE.UTF-8 cat section-descriptions | while read -r; do if (echo "$REPLY" | egrep -qv '^[[:space:]]*[^[:space:]]*[[:space:]]*"([^"]*)";$') then echo "$REPLY" else (echo -n "$REPLY" | sed 's/^\([ \t]*[^ \t]*[ \t]*"\)\([^"]*\)";$/\1/g' TEXTDOMAINDIR=/tmp/aptitude-tmp2/share/locale gettext -e aptitude "$(echo -n "$REPLY" | sed 's/^[ \t]*[^ \t]*[ \t]*"\([^"]*\)";$/\1/g' | sed "s/''/\"/g")" | sed ':x {N s/\n/\\n/g bx }' | sed "s/\"/''/g"; echo '";') fi done ) > aptitude-defaults.$lang && hg add aptitude-defaults.$lang done
