If the object is a file, it will be opened by invoking an editor. If it is a file folder, its contents are not displayable using this command. To display the contents of a file folder, select that folder. The display command will open a frame displaying an object's contents if the object is viewable (ascii text). You can page through the contents of an object if it does not fit in one frame. Use one of the methods below to display an object. The currently active object will be displayed if the object is not specified in the display command. Command Menu: Select display and press ENTER. Command Menu: Press CTRL-j with cursor on display and an --> (alternative) will appear on the command line followed by the display. Type arguments and press ENTER to execute the command. Command Line: Type display [object] and press ENTER. If you attempt to display an object that cannot be displayed, you will receive a warning message. Striking the CANCEL function key will cancel the display.
