PyTable is a relational database wrapper based on BasicProperty's rich
property-based modeling system. PyTable provides a "thick" wrapper for
PostgreSQL (and MySQL) database adapters which fills in missing functionality
in the adapter layer to provide a uniform rich external API.
|
|
The BasicProperty/BasicTypes system provides a mechanism for intelligent
property-based modeling of problem domains in Python 2.2+. The idea behind
property-based domain modeling is to simplify the definition of objects/data
structures so that concerns such as initialization, data-type checking and
coercion, run-time introspection, and domain specific storage/retrieval
operations can be abstracted out from the modeling operations.

- NPRuntime support. NPRuntime is an extension to the Netscape Plugin API that
was developed in cooperation with Apple, Opera, and a group of plugin
vendors. http://www.mozilla.org/projects/plugins/npruntime.html
- Added undetectable document.all support, and support for exposing elements
by their ID in the global scope for greater IE compatibility when viewing
pages that don't request standards compliant behaviour.

- Fix for http://secunia.com/advisories/12956/
Support for Solaris SPARC and x86 is not available due to lack of a
precompiled binary at this point of time.

fixes build on Linux. reported by minskim@

This is mainly a bugfix release, with few notable user-visible
improvements. However, we would like to highlight two fixes in particular:
* Nested documents (with Insert>Include File...), which have been
broken since LyX 1.2.0, should now work properly, including the
case where the files are in different directories.
* It is now possible to compile LyX with gcc 3.4.

-Added per-post sender confirmation patch from Tullio Andreatta.
See the documentation for ezmlm-make -y for details.
-Changed all example domain names in text files to the RFC 2606 mandated
example.com domain name.
-Several documentation and comment fixes. Thanks Tullio Andreatta.
-Added conf-sub control file, used to choose which subscriber
mechanism to use. This replaces the "make std/mysql/pgsql" mechanism.
Adapted from patch by Tullio Andreatta.
-Got rid of the frivolous uses of /bin/sh to exec ezmlm-send.
-Always reject bounce messages in ezmlm-reject.
-Substitute <#r#> in (un)subscribe confirm messages with just the local
part of the reply address (for web-based confirmation).

qmail-qfilter. Defaults to ${VARBASE}/tmp/qmail-qfilter.

- Added support for modifying the message envelope as well as the body.
- If either the body or envelope output is empty, the input is reused
as-is.
- Export the envelope size, the message size, and the number of
recipients to filters through environment variables $ENVSIZE,
$MSGSIZE, and $NUMRCPTS respectively.
pkgsrc changes:
* As suggested by the install docs, use a temporary directory
writable only by user qmaild (the user as whom qmail-qfilter
typically runs). This can be changed by setting QMAIL_QFILTER_TMPDIR
in mk.conf.
* Find the qmail-queue binary even if QMAILDIR isn't "/var/qmail".
* Add dependency on bglibs.

Changes:
- Fix memory leaks in LDAP, MySQL and PGSQL userdb/passdb
- Fix hanging when parsing mails that have over 4096 bytes in one
line (SMTP servers normally don't allow over 1000 bytes so it
shouldn't be much of a problem)
- FETCH BODYSTRUCTURE sometimes gave a wrong reply
(eg. with FETCH (BODYSTRUCTURE RFC822.SIZE) if it wasn't cached)
- Never return more than one INBOX in LIST even if there are such
files. They don't work anyway and it just confuses clients.
- mbox: Don't allow creating INBOX directory by creating/renaming
mailboxes under it. They just wouldn't work.
- POP3: Don't return PLAIN in SASL list. We don't support initial SASL
responses, so it only breaks with most clients that try to use it.
- IMAP and POP3 login processes may have sent each line in two IP
packets, one with the data and another with CR+LF. Some clients
didn't work because of this.

Changes:
- XCLIENT support
- Drop XCLIENT commands coming in from clients for security.
- Added the sample virus_action.sh script to the distribution
- Documentation fixes [Olivier Beyssac]

Description:
Class::DBI provides a convenient abstraction layer to a database.
It not only provides a simple database to object mapping layer, but can
be used to implement several higher order database functions (triggers,
referential integrity, cascading delete etc.), at the application level,
rather than at the database.
This is particularly useful when using a database which doesn't support
these (such as MySQL), or when you would like your code to be portable
across multiple databases which might implement these things in
different ways.
In short, Class::DBI aims to make it simple to introduce 'best practice'
when dealing with data stored in a relational database.

Description:
This module was inspired by the excellent the DBIx::Abstract manpage.
However, in using that module I found that what I really wanted to do
was generate SQL, but still retain complete control over my statement
handles and use the DBI interface. So, I set out to create an abstract
SQL generation module.
