it to freeze or crash at all. Notable new features: - - "maketool" now understands how to run "autoconf", "automake"..., and even "xmkmf" for packages based on "imake"! - - Add "mo" catalogs for Japanese and Czech.
2002-03-09Update htdig to 3.1.6. Many bug fixes, including one security-related fix.fredb7-568/+69
The following is from the web page: Release notes for htdig-3.1.6 1 Feb 2002 As with previous releases, this version cleans up some remaining bugs and adds a few heavily-requested features. As the latest stable release, it is recommended for all production servers. * Fixed another nasty security hole in htsearch, which would allow a denial of service attack or forcing htsearch to read in config files outside of the configuration directory. * Fixed some problems with htmerge, including problems with words beginning with special characters and merging multiple databases. * Fixed a bug in handling hopcounts. * Fixed problems in handling non-standard relative HTTP redirects. * Fixed bugs in external parsers support including being confused by charset information in the Content-Type header and handling binary output from external converters. * Fixed bugs in the default English endings database. (Under ispell, it wasn't quite intended for the accuracy needed for our usage.) * Fixed additional bugs in the endings fuzzy algorithm. * Fixed bugs with compiling with gcc-3.0 and later. * Fixed bugs compiling and running on Mac OS X. * Fixed problems with servers not returning a Last-Modified date--now assums indexing time as modification time. * Fixed a variety of bugs in the HTML parser to more flexibly handle non-standard HTML. * Fixed problems in the TCP connection code and will more reliably timeout when a connection hangs and will retry bad connections several times before giving up. * Added the -m "minimal" flag to htdig for only indexing a set list of URLs and made the -l (log) flag the default behavior so that htdig will stop and restart automatically. * Added htdump and htload programs for dumping ASCII representations of the databases and reloading the same. * Added support for htnotify to collect multiple URLs and allow easy customization of notification messages, including the new attributes htnotify_replyto, htnotify_webmaster, htnotify_prefix_file, and htnotify_suffix_file. * Added a new "accents" fuzzy algorithm to morph accents, including the new accents_db attribute. * Added a 'list all' feature to htsearch with a query of '*' or the current prefix_match_character. * Added date restricted searching to htsearch including relative dates. * Added documentation on running ht://Dig and the rundig script. * Added METADESCRIPTION and NSTARS variables to the htsearch templates as well as support for $=(var) template variable references. * Added new config attributes to htsearch for restrict and exclude which work like the normal htsearch form variables if the form variables are not set. * Added many new attributes, including ignore_dead_servers description_meta_tag_names, max_keywords, translate_latin1, url_rewrite_rules, search_rewrite_rules, anchor_target, ignore_alt_text, search_results_contenttype, boolean_keywords, boolean_syntax_errors, multimatch_method, maximum_page_buttons, max_excerpts, plural_suffix, any_keywords and use_doc_date. * Extended the build_select_lists attribute to support select multiple, radio boxes and checkboxes. * Revised the documentation to make it clearer in parts, including the url_part_aliases attribute. * Updated various contributed utilities including doc2html, xmlsearch, rundig.sh, htparsedoc, acroconv.pl, multidig, etc. * A variety of other bug fixes, and many documentation updates. See the ChangeLog for details.

Greetings from 4th Chemnitz Linuxtag. :)
2002-03-09Updated apsfilter to 7.2.2martti4-17/+24
NOTE: This works just fine with ghostscript-6.01 even though the setup script says you need 6.50 or later... - new driver scripts: ljet4l, pips/sc70s, pips/sc80s, stp/pcl-2, stp/pcl-4 - replace awk "duplex" function with psset call - adjust psnup rotation to various converters for landscape mode - add landscape option to enscript command line - introduce IGNORE_LPD_RAW variable to please buggy spoolers that send jobs in raw mode - sanitize ": ${foo:-bar}" to ": ${foo:=bar}" - make n{c}print line whitespace-safe - save return code in global temporary file - typo in wmf2eps line - make apspreview use global "restrictions" file - get basedir in SETUP from configure - protect $foo[bar] contructs from being expanded to array elements by zsh - add "-dPARANOIDSAFER" for gs7.04 (harmless for all older releases) - save "rm" and "rp" in SETUP.cfg - add some hints w.r.t landscape and n-up in handbook - remove media types in scripts for some PCL printers - be more helpful with "invalid method" - LaserJet 4L needs fixed 300dpi - LN macro in Makefile needs -n switch -- we must create a directory link even if one exists already - MAPPING update - change email address in various places - remove apsfilter installation error when typing "make install" by using ln's -f (force) option to overwrite an existing symlink (just in case you overwrite another installation). - fix some HP driver mapping in MAPPING file - make apspreview work again for FreeBSD (and possibly *BSD). BSD uses a sed implementation, that uses only "normal" regular expressions for backward compatibility not to break existing scripts. Linux (GNU sed) uses "modern REs". We use now awk which turns out to be more portable between different Unix flavours. We use awk instead of sed in other scripts as well (SETUP, aps2file). - import a patch from FreeBSD ports collection necessary for FreeBSD-current to use "user:group" syntax for chown. Old style "user.group" to change owner && group isn't supported anymore. Linux's implementation of chown (from GNU) groks new syntax. - support for NetWare (Novell) remote printer - save network traffic by supporting "remote copies" via new REMOTE_COPIES variable. This tells lpd and Netware print spooler to do copies themselves (enabled by default). - install and test apsfilter as "non-root" user under $HOME ! This helps in testing new apsfilter versions, i.e. to prepare a migration to a new version on a production system. For this feature the configure script supports two new options: --with-printcap=... and --with-spooldir=... - use secure temporary directory in SETUP - aps2file and apspreview now handle printer aliases - remove bogus hpijs driver entries in setup/printer-7.00 (but they were correct in setup/printer-hpijs) - only preview if aps2file generated PostScript - driver: stp/escp2-1160 (thanks to <andrew@ugh.net.au>) - various fixes in driver/MAPPING - adjusted various omni/ scripts to use more reasonable resolution settings - enable PSgs to honor HARDWARE_COPIES - the bjc600 driver script has four new siblings (bjc50, bjc70, bjc4000, bjc7000) to properly handle printers with different print resolutions - various small SETUP clean-ups - create "basedir" link at install time already - doc/Makefile: "make clean" should remove handbook.html since "configure" re-creates it from handbook.html.in - Make handbook generation smarter, cosmetic.

2002-03-09Make it build on Darwin.yyamano4-18/+23
* Use curses. Darwin doesn't have termcap. * Add __APPLE__ to system.h to define necessary macros. * Replace __{Free,Open,Net}BSD__ with __UNIX__ in language/language.c. It worked on *BSD, but not correct logically. XXX -no-cpp-precomp issue isn't fixed yet. I think we should fix it in XXX generic way.
2002-03-09Add missing SDL_mixer dependency. Noted by mjl.wiz1-1/+2
2002-03-08Fix cases where apmvar.h doesn't exist.jmc4-2/+6253
By default the apm applet is always compiled in unless the lite support is enabled which turns off way too much. So, split the apm option out into it's own option and test for it by checking in Makefile.common for apmvar.h's existance. If it doesn't exist pass --disable-apm. This makes this compile again on machines that do not have machine/apmvar.h (and are NetBSD) such as macppc. Bump version via PKGVERSION to nb1.
2002-03-08Make it compile with xpkgwedge.wiz3-4/+15

2002-03-08Use some new conventions (changes not user-visible):jlam1-5/+11
FOO_SED is user-appendable. _FOO_SED = ${_FOO_PRE_SED} ${FOO_SED} ${_FOO_POST_SED} _FOO_SED is used when actually making sed(1) substitutions. This allows tweaking _FOO_{PRE,POST}_SED to alter the total sed expression.
2002-03-08Add and enable icebreaker.wiz1-1/+2
2002-03-08Initial import of icebreaker-1.2.1:wiz6-0/+129
From the DESCR: So, uh, there's a bunch of penguins on an iceberg in Antarctica. You have been selected to catch them so they can be shipped to Finland, where they are essential to a secret plot for world domination. In order to trap the penguins, you'll need to break the iceberg into small chunks. You do this by melting lines in the ice with Special High-Tech GNU Tools. If a penguin hits a line in progress, however, it vanishes with a loud noise, and you lose a life. Once 80% or more of the iceberg is gone, the remaining chunks are small enough for shipping. Of course, if you manage to get rid of more than that, you'll save on postage, thus earning you exponential amounts of Geek Cred (a.k.a. "score"). After you ship off one batch of penguins, it's time to move on to the next. Each subsequent 'berg will have one more penguin, and you'll have one more life. This will continue until you lose, or until you exceed level one hundred or so, which Ain't Gonna Happen. Of course, this is an urgent mission, so you'll be penalized if you're slow -- every second or so, your score drops down by one.
2002-03-08Add and enable copter-commander.wiz1-1/+2
2002-03-08Initial import of copter-commander-1.8.wiz11-0/+316
From the DESCR: Copter Commander is a free implementation of Armor Alley and Rescue Raiders. R.R. was associated with a company called Sir-Tech software, and A.A. was associated with Three Sixty Pacific. Basically, you try to send a convoy from your part of the screen that destroys the commanding vessel of the opposing convoy, while protecting your own commanding vessel. You can only directly control a helicopter, though, and the order of creation of the new vehicles/infantry.
2002-03-08Make postfix dependency match current versioning scheme.wiz1-2/+2
[Not wildcarded to >=1.1.x because then all 200* versions would match.]
2002-03-08Update "xcb" package to version 2.3.9:tron2-11/+12
- Forked version because the original maintainer was unreachable. - Internal representation has now changed to utf-8 (XFree) or locale-dependent multibyte (X). - Font ressource is now .fontSet instead of .font. - I/O is done using the current locale unless the -u (utf8) switch is in effect.

2002-03-07Update to 2.9.wiz2-7/+5
Changes: The memory sizing code has been completely rewritten. By default Memtest86 gets a memory map from the BIOS that is now used to find available memory. A new online configuration option provides three choices for how memory will be sized, including the old "probe" method. The default mode generally will not test all of memory, but should be more stable. See the "Memory Sizing" section for details. Testing of more than 2gb of memory should now work. A number of bugs were found and corrected that prevented testing above 2gb. Testing with more than 2gb has been limited and there could be problems with a full 4gb of memory. Memory is divided into segments for testing. This allow for frequent progress updates and responsiveness to interactive commands. The memory segment size has been increased from 16 to 32mb. This should improve testing effectivness but progress reports will be less frequent. Minor bug fixes.
2002-03-07memtest has been renamed to memtest86.wiz9-135/+2
