GStreamer is a library that allows the construction of graphs of media-handling components, ranging from simple Ogg/Vorbis playback to complex audio (mixing) and video (non-linear editing) processing. Applications can take advantage of advances in codec and filter technology transparently. Developers can add new codecs and filters by writing a simple plugin with a clean, generic interface. GStreamer is released under the LGPL. This package is part of the 'good' plugins for GStreamer. It provides the pulseaudio plugin for GStreamer, which allows playback and recording of sound through the Pulseaudio sound daemon.

PulseAudio is a sound server for POSIX and Win32 systems. A sound server is basically a proxy for your sound applications. It allows you to do advanced operations on your sound data as it passes between your application and your hardware. Things like transferring the audio to a different machine, changing the sample format or channel count and mixing several sounds into one are easily achieved using a sound server.

generate incorrect code effectively breaking the package. I know this solution is still lame but its fix comes from the still uncomitted lib3ds version 2.0.0. Should one day be fixed/done correctly for non i386.
