2006-08-16 John Peacock <jpeacock@cpan.org>
Use default subclass name in Build.PL, since M::B nukes the version::
namespace during its own initialization.
2006-08-08 John Peacock <jpeacock@cpan.org>
Revert accidental whitespace change
2006-08-08 John Peacock <jpeacock@cpan.org>
One more regex to prevent patch files being added to MANIFEST
2006-08-08 John Peacock <jpeacock@cpan.org>
Dependency on changelog not in correct order with dist
2006-08-08 John Peacock <jpeacock@cpan.org>
Yet another way to structure Makefile.PL so that it autogenerates Changes.
2006-08-08 John Peacock <jpeacock@cpan.org>
Once again, fix very small version handling in pure Perl release (globally
this time).
2006-07-30 John Peacock <jpeacock@cpan.org>
Property change (don't need these to be executable).
2006-07-30 John Peacock <jpeacock@cpan.org>
Add MANIFEST.SKIP so Module::Release will be happy.
Hide vutil/Makefile.PL inside top level Makefile.PL (__DATA__).
2006-07-30 John Peacock <jpeacock@cpan.org>
Force MSVC to only compile, not link, by default.
Generate manified PODs in Makefile.PL.
Autogenerate 'Changes' from Makefile.PL.
2006-07-25 John Peacock <jpeacock@cpan.org>
Pure Perl UNIVERSAL::VERSION was throwing undef warnings when called
without a req, e.g. MODULE->VERSION.
2006-07-25 John Peacock <jpeacock@cpan.org>
More compatibility for inclusion in Module::Build.
Remove dependency to Scalar::Util (just guess if it is a v-string).
2006-07-19 John Peacock <jpeacock@cpan.org>
More Makefile tweakage. Can't use warnings in Perl < v5.6.0 and need to
protect Build.PL from being run by Makefile.PL being a little too helpful.
2006-07-17 John Peacock <jpeacock@cpan.org>
Custom Makefile.PL left debris around if ExtUtils::CBuilder, confusing the
Makefile into trying to compile/link something that wasn't there.
Also, take out the "0+" numification, which didn't work in vpp.pm, and which
I don't want to support with this module anyway.
2006-07-17 John Peacock <jpeacock@cpan.org>
Reorganize structure and provide a fully EU::MM compatible Makefile.PL
for, among other cases, bootstrap installing of Module::Build (which now
depends on version.pm). No new tests, no change to core code. Resolves
RT#20493.
2006-06-08 John Peacock <jpeacock@cpan.org>
Bump version in preparation for release to CPAN as 0.64.
2006-05-29 John Peacock <jpeacock@cpan.org>
As it turns out, the import() method *can* be inherited and DTRT.
POD adjusted to reflect the current reality.
2006-05-29 John Peacock <jpeacock@cpan.org>
Based on a suggestion by David Wheeler, test for already exported qv() in a
more inheritance friendly fashion.
Create a way to call the base import() from a subclass and have it DTRT and
provide documentation for doing so.
Ready to release to CPAN as 0.63_01.

------------------------
Release notes for the gEDA/gaf 20060824 snapshot
Changes
_________________________________________________________________
libgeda/gschem
* Updated libgeda's so version to 26:0:0.
* Fixed the infamous "slice" memory problem that was plaguing
gEDA/gaf for a while. Mixing malloc/free and g_malloc/g_free is a
bad idea and also setting a field in deallocated memory tends to
upset glib's memory management.
* Added a new rc variable called "always-promote-attributes" that
takes a string of attribute names that are automatically prompted
when a component is placed on a schematic. The default list is:
"footprint device value model-name".
* Newly rewritten postscript output to be much more compact, sane.
and support unicode (Mike Jarabek).
* gschem now uses stock gtk+ icons if they are available (Tomaz
Solc).
* Improved the robustness of the loading of symbols/schmeatics
(Tomaz Solc).
* Added support for panning using the middle mouse button and
controlling the amount of pan (Peter Clifton).
* Changed the default behavior of the middle button (now mouse pan).

the amount of pan (Tomaz Solc).
* Added the ability to zoom in and zoom out using the mouse wheel
(Peter Clifton).
* Added a bunch of new hooks to gschem and libgeda. This supports
various new features such as auto pin attributes, auto attribute
placing (currently commented out), select_component_hook,
select_net_hook, deselect_component_hook, deselect_net_hook,
deselect_all (Carlos Nieves Onega and Dan McMahill).
* Added support for dragging an object using the first mouse button
in gschem (Carlos Nieves Onega).
* Added the beginnings of pcb mode to gschem (Dan McMahill).
* Improvements to the autosave and backup mechanism (Carlos Nieves
Onega).
* Added support for text overbars. The delimiter character is \_ (it
should be at the beginning and end of the where you want the
overbar to be (Carlos Nieves Onega). Postscript output support for
overbars (Mike Jarabek).
* Bug fixes to the auto save mechanism (Carlos Nieves Onega). Please
report any more crashes.
* Fixed component update to work correctly since it was looking for
existing attributes in the wrong places.
* Converted all the noweb code to just plain C (making sure that all
the really nice documentation that Patrick and others is
perserved). gEDA/gaf no longer requires noweb to build (Jason
Childs).

* Various bug fixes and improvements (Carlos Nieves Onega and
others).
utils
* gsch2pcb improvements dealing with how to find gnetlist
executable.
* Updated to the latest version of grenum (Levente Kovacs).
* Applied power pin handling patch (Patrick Doyle).
docs
* Obsoleted all latex documentation and replaced it with a snaphot
of the gEDA wiki. Many thanks to David Hart for the conversion and
necessary support to make this conversion possible.
examples
* No significant changes.
misc
* The geda (gManager) source tarball is not longer being
distributed. All the code is still in the CVS repository, but due
to lack of maintanance, it has been pulled for these snapshot
releases.
* Fixed various Makefiles to support make distcheck again.
* Lots of bug fixes by (Werner Hoch, Carlos Nieves Onega, and many
others).

- File corruption while executing a Milter "header insert" action
with headers-only mail (found with dk-filter). Delivery agents
would go into an infinite loop because some queue file update
had been done in the wrong order. As a precaution, delivery
agents now detect such loops, and the queue manager now saves
such mail to the "corrupt" directory.
- Segmentation fault in the SMTP client while saving a cached
connection with unsent data. Postfix indexed some table with -1,
because some I/O cleanup had been done in the wrong order. The
same problem should exist in Postfix 2.2.
- Postfix no longer announces its name in delivery status notifications.
All other details of the default bounce text remain unchanged.
The reason for this change is that too many people believe that
Wietse provides a free helpdesk service that solves all their
email problems.

[bugfix release, including security fixes]
|
|
Most notably this version includes fixes for:
http://secunia.com/advisories/21259/
http://secunia.com/advisories/21506/
http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2006-3469
* Packages changes:
the script mysqldumpslow had been moved from the mysql4-client to the
mysql4-server.
* Changes since last packaged version (4.1.20)
(see http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/4.1/en/news-4-1-21.html for more details):
This is a bugfix release for the recent production release family.
Functionality added or changed:
- For spatial data types, the server formerly returned these as
VARSTRING values with a binary collation. Now the server returns
spatial values as BLOB values. (Bug#10166)
- Added the --set-charset option to mysqlbinlog to allow the
character set to be specified for processing binary log files.
(Bug#18351)
- For a table with an AUTO_INCREMENT column, SHOW CREATE TABLE now
shows the next AUTO_INCREMENT value to be generated. (Bug#19025)
- A warning now is issued if the client attempts to set the
SQL_LOG_OFF variable without the SUPER privilege. (Bug#16180)
- The mysqldumpslow script has been moved from client RPM packages
to server RPM packages. This corrects a problem where mysqldumpslow
could not be used with a client-only RPM install, because it depends
on my_print_defaults which is in the server RPM. (Bug#20216)
Bugs fixed:
- Security fix: On Linux, and possibly other platforms using
case-sensitive filesystems, it was possible for a user granted
rights on a database to create or access a database whose name
differed only from that of the first by the case of one or more
letters. (Bug#17647)
- Security fix: If a user has access to MyISAM table t, that user
can create a MERGE table m that accesses t. However, if the user's
privileges on t are subsequently revoked, the user can continue to
access t by doing so through m. If this behavior is undesirable,
you can start the server with the new --skip-merge option to disable
the MERGE storage engine. (Bug#15195)
- Security fix: Invalid arguments to DATE_FORMAT() caused a server
crash. (CVE-2006-3469, Bug#20729) Thanks to Jean-David Maillefer
for discovering and reporting this problem to the Debian project
and to Christian Hammers from the Debian Team for notifying us of
it.

bug fix list)
