security update for rar-linux
Revisions pulled up:
- pkgsrc/archivers/rar-linux/Makefile 1.12
- pkgsrc/archivers/rar-linux/distinfo 1.4
Module Name: pkgsrc
Committed By: wiz
Date: Sun Oct 30 13:10:38 UTC 2005
Modified Files:
pkgsrc/archivers/rar-linux: Makefile distinfo
Log Message:
Update to 3.5.1:
Version 3.51
1. Bugs fixed:
a) previous version tried to create symbolic links even when
testing an archive;
b) symbolic links unpacked with -ow switch had a wrong owner;
c) RAR failed to restore setuid and setgid access rights
when unpacking files with -ow switch.
Version 3.50
1. New -n<mask> and -n@<listfile> switches set additional include
filters, so only files matching the mask will be processed.
2. New -id[c,d,p,q] switch. Additionally to previously available
-idp switch (disable percentage indicator), switches -idc, -idd
and -idq instruct the console RAR to hide the copyright message,
"Done" message and all information messages.
3. Switch -e+<attr> allows to specify file include attributes mask.
It is possible to use 'd' and 'v' characters in -e[+]<attr> switch
to denote directory and device attributes.
4. Switch -ver[n] supports the optional 'n' parameter also when
archiving. It limits the maximum number of file versions.

Notable changes:
* new command line options (-c, -q, -v)
* 64-bit file (via 64-bit stdio API) support

dependency of mktemp. (This makes it so it doesn't depend on mktemp
on DragonFly, for example.)
Also while I am here, use sh:run instead of sh for the other USE_TOOLS.
This is because script installed uses SH.

file's sole purpose was to provide a dependency on pkg-config and set
some environment variables. Instead, turn pkg-config into a "tool"
in the tools framework, where the pkg-config wrapper automatically
adds PKG_CONFIG_LIBDIR to the environment before invoking the real
pkg-config.
For all package Makefiles that included pkg-config/buildlink3.mk, remove
that inclusion and replace it with USE_TOOLS+=pkg-config.
|
|
* Added basic archive writing support.
* Added a cpio archive module.
* Added a zip archive module.
* Added the beginnings of a cab archive module.

cxMakePhysDirs(), cxApplyFsNodeInfo(), cxMakeFile(),
cxGetArchiveFileCount()
* Added functions for extracting individual files and full archives.
* Added extraction notification callbacks.
* Added pkg-config support.
* Added gettext v0.11.3+ support.
* Added an Italian translation. Thanks Domenico Andreoli!
* Added a Dutch translation. Thanks Bert De Meyer!
* Added support for some non-ustar tar formats.
* Added a test program to display the file/directory tree inside of an

* Removed comprex.h. Applications should now include libcomprex/comprex.h.
* Fixed the extraction code so permissions, timestamps, and ownerships
are set on files and directories.
* Fixed cxEof().
* Fixed the file and directory iterator. It should provide the
correct results now.
* Fixed a bug in the ar module where filenames weren't always read in
correctly.
* Fixed a bug in the tar module where filenames that start with '.'
weren't processed correctly.
* Fixed library linking problems with libbz2 and libz.

- Bug fixes:
- Debian patch 001 - Converted quoted strings
- Debian patch 002 - Makefile changes
- Debian patch 003 - Build changes

end conversion (see proginfo/txtvsbin.txt)

+ include <stdint.h> if we have it, so that we can use uintXX_t types
on OSes that don't have them in <sys/types.h> (thanks, Mac OS X)
+ clean up some uninitialised warnings on NetBSD-current
+ rein in on the compilation flags, since older versions of gcc seem
to barf on -std=c99 (thanks to David Maxwell for pointing this one out).
|
|
|
|
Differences from previous version:
+ properly recognise __attribute__() - pointed out very eloquently by
Joerg Sonnenberger
+ add -V switch to aatar to print the version
+ fix more fallout from autoconf, showed up by bulk builds on 3.0
|
|
List posted to tech-pkg by jmmv on June 15, no negative comments.
|
|
No PKGREVISION bump since pkg-config is only a BUILD_DEPENDS.
|
|
Changes since previous version:
+ lint fixes, highlighted by amd64 bulk build results - cast 64bit entities
to the correct type when printing the values.
|
|
|
|
+ updated options parsing in aatar
+ fixed a bug whereby zero-length files would not be added to the
archive correctly

Archangel is an archiver for 2005 and beyond. Some features are:
+ cross-platform
+ individually {compressed,bzip2ed,gzipped} entries
+ individually {signed,encrypted,signed+encrypted} entries
+ entries can be padded to arbitrary lengths
All in all, a combination of zip, tar, and gpg on steroids
You can now backup files, and not be worried about people reading them,
either in transit or at their destination.
Entries have a maximum size of 1 MB (by default) internally, so that
media problems mean that you can recover the parts that aren't affected.
