major change. Reported by Robert Elz in PR 41345.
2009-03-20Simply and speed up buildlink3.mk files and processing.joerg1-13/+6
This changes the buildlink3.mk files to use an include guard for the recursive include. The use of BUILDLINK_DEPTH, BUILDLINK_DEPENDS, BUILDLINK_PACKAGES and BUILDLINK_ORDER is handled by a single new variable BUILDLINK_TREE. Each buildlink3.mk file adds a pair of enter/exit marker, which can be used to reconstruct the tree and to determine first level includes. Avoiding := for large variables (BUILDLINK_ORDER) speeds up parse time as += has linear complexity. The include guard reduces system time by avoiding reading files over and over again. For complex packages this reduces both %user and %sys time to half of the former time.

2008-01-18Per the process outlined in revbump(1), perform a recursive revbumptnn2-4/+4

2007-07-28Fix build with boehm-gc>=7.wiz1-1/+2

Patch provided by Sergey Svishchev in private mail.
2006-07-19Drop support for LTCONFIG_OVERRIDE. For quite a long time, pkgsrcjlam1-2/+1
had actually been ignoring LTCONFIG_OVERRIDE anyway and just using the default LIBTOOL_OVERRIDE to replace libtool scripts in packages. This just formalizes the fact that LTCONFIG_OVERRIDE is not used meaningfully by pkgsrc.
2006-07-08Change the format of BUILDLINK_ORDER to contain depth information as well,jlam1-2/+2
and add a new helper target and script, "show-buildlink3", that outputs a listing of the buildlink3.mk files included as well as the depth at which they are included. For example, "make show-buildlink3" in fonts/Xft2 displays: zlib fontconfig iconv zlib freetype2 expat freetype2 Xrender renderproto
2006-07-08Track information in a new variable BUILDLINK_ORDER that informs usjlam1-1/+2
of the order in which buildlink3.mk files are (recursively) included by a package Makefile.
2006-04-12Aligned the last line of the buildlink3.mk files with the first line, sorillig1-2/+2
that they look nicer.

RECOMMENDED is removed. It becomes ABI_DEPENDS. BUILDLINK_RECOMMENDED.foo becomes BUILDLINK_ABI_DEPENDS.foo. BUILDLINK_DEPENDS.foo becomes BUILDLINK_API_DEPENDS.foo. BUILDLINK_DEPENDS does not change. IGNORE_RECOMMENDED (which defaulted to "no") becomes USE_ABI_DEPENDS which defaults to "yes". Added to obsolete.mk checking for IGNORE_RECOMMENDED. I did not manually go through and fix any aesthetic tab/spacing issues. I have tested the above patch on DragonFly building and packaging subversion and pkglint and their many dependencies. I have also tested USE_ABI_DEPENDS=no on my NetBSD workstation (where I have used IGNORE_RECOMMENDED for a long time). I have been an active user of IGNORE_RECOMMENDED since it was available. As suggested, I removed the documentation sentences suggesting bumping for "security" issues. As discussed on tech-pkg. I will commit to revbump, pkglint, pkg_install, createbuildlink separately. Note that if you use wip, it will fail! I will commit to pkgsrc-wip later (within day).
2006-03-04Point MAINTAINER to pkgsrc-users@NetBSD.org in the case where nojlam1-2/+2
developer is officially maintaining the package. The rationale for changing this from "tech-pkg" to "pkgsrc-users" is that it implies that any user can try to maintain the package (by submitting patches to the mailing list). Since the folks most likely to care about the package are the folks that want to use it or are already using it, this would leverage the energy of users who aren't developers.
2006-02-05Recursive revision bump / recommended bump for gettext ABI change.joerg2-2/+4
2005-12-29Remove USE_PKGINSTALL from pkgsrc now that mk/install/pkginstall.mkjlam1-2/+1
automatically detects whether we want the pkginstall machinery to be used by the package Makefile.
2005-12-05Ran "pkglint --autofix", which corrected some of the quoting issues inrillig1-2/+2
CONFIGURE_ARGS.
2005-12-05Fixed pkglint warnings. The warnings are mostly quoting issues, forrillig1-3/+3
example MAKE_ENV+=FOO=${BAR} is changed to MAKE_ENV+=FOO=${BAR:Q}. Some other changes are outlined in http://mail-index.netbsd.org/tech-pkg/2005/12/02/0034.html
2005-09-07Changes 0.99f:adam7-56/+130
* gdomain now has a -K flag * gsend has the -b flag * the default gsubrc doesn't escape '+' characters * the time format of the default gsubrc is adjustable * sundry WQP bugfixes * bug fix to stop gsub from dropping messages * MacOSX compatibility fixes * gkinfo has a -y flag * much more verbose diagnostics when things go wrong with keys * partial fix to the galed spum problem (not a real fix though) * don't be as verbose about "replaced .. with __" messages * more mostly unrelated liboop fixes
2005-08-19Merge CONF_FILES/SUPPORT_FILES and CONF_FILES_PERMS/SUPPORT_FILES_PERMSjlam1-3/+3
as the INSTALL and DEINSTALL scripts no longer distinguish between the two types of files. Drop SUPPORT_FILES{,_PERMS} and modify the packages in pkgsrc accordingly.
2005-04-11Remove USE_BUILDLINK3 and NO_BUILDLINK; these are no longer used.tv1-2/+1

2004-10-03Libtool fix for PR pkg/26633, and other issues. Update libtool to 1.5.10tv1-2/+2
in the process. (More information on tech-pkg.) Bump PKGREVISION and BUILDLINK_DEPENDS of all packages using libtool and installing .la files. Bump PKGREVISION (only) of all packages depending directly on the above via a buildlink3 include.
2004-09-22Mechanical changes to package PLISTs to make use of LIBTOOLIZE_PLIST.jlam1-21/+1
All library names listed by *.la files no longer need to be listed in the PLIST, e.g., instead of: lib/libfoo.a lib/libfoo.la lib/libfoo.so lib/libfoo.so.0 lib/libfoo.so.0.1 one simply needs: lib/libfoo.la and bsd.pkg.mk will automatically ensure that the additional library names are listed in the installed package +CONTENTS file. Also make LIBTOOLIZE_PLIST default to "yes".

2003-01-28Instead of including bsd.pkg.install.mk directly in a package Makefile,jlam1-2/+3
have it be automatically included by bsd.pkg.mk if USE_PKGINSTALL is set to "YES". This enforces the requirement that bsd.pkg.install.mk be included at the end of a package Makefile. Idea suggested by Julio M. Merino Vidal <jmmv at menta.net>.

2002-08-25Merge changes in packages from the buildlink2 branch that havejlam1-0/+32
buildlink2.mk files back into the main trunk.
2001-12-02bsd.pkg.install.mk calls the INSTALL script at the right timesjlam1-5/+1
automatically, so no need to do it ourselves.
2001-11-26Use PKG_{USERS,GROUPS} instead of PKG_{USER,GROUP}.jlam1-3/+3
2001-11-25PKG_SYSCONFDIR is where the configuration files for a package may be found.jlam1-10/+13
This value may be customized in various ways: PKG_SYSCONFBASE is the main config directory under which all package configuration files are to be found. PKG_SYSCONFSUBDIR is the subdirectory of PKG_SYSCONFBASE under which the configuration files for a particular package may be found. PKG_SYSCONFDIR.${PKGBASE} overrides the value of ${PKG_SYSCONFDIR} for a particular package. Users will typically want to set PKG_SYSCONFBASE to /etc, or accept the default location of ${PREFIX}/etc. This obsoletes the use of CONFDIR, which was active for only 6 days, so no need to have a workaround to still accept old CONFDIR settings.
2001-11-19Respect ${CONFDIR} and use the common INSTALL/DEINSTALL scripts instead ofjlam10-168/+155
the custom ones. Also fix the directory handling during post-installation and strongly buildlinkify.
2001-11-19cleanup per ../sysutils/ups-nut:lukem4-65/+90
- use FILES_SUBST_SED et al - do NOT try and remove the gale user & group or ${PREFIX}/etc/gale on deinstall. instead, remind the admin to do it manually.
2001-10-31Move pkg/ files into package's toplevel directoryzuntum5-4/+4
2001-08-14grep isn't used anymore, so don't substitute for @GREP@ in the INSTALLjlam2-5/+5
files. Substitute for @ID@ instead of directly using 'id', and use the value of ${ID} already set in defs.*.mk.
2001-08-12Fix same problems with the user check:veego1-5/+5
- use 'id' instead of 'finger'. this is not a real problem, but it is enough and fixing the next problem makes it possible to use it. - grep -q doesn't work on solaris, so use a different way to suppress the output from the user check. - the return code check for the user was reversed.
