in the NetBSD Packages Collection.
This Perl5 module is designed as a help for managing (ranges
of) IP addresses. It includes efficient implementations for most
common tasks done to subnets or ranges of IP addresses, namely
verifying if an address is within a subnet, comparing, looping,
splitting subnets into longer prefixes, compacting addresses to
the shortest prefixes, etc. Both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses are
supported.

The Test::Pod Perl 5 module permits to check the validity of a POD file,
and reports its result in standard Test::Simple fashion.

Changes:
- added Latvian translation.
- fixed the way xCHM treated '&' characters in URLs.
- fixed a TOC bug.
|
|
Changes:
- UTF-8 filenames, while still not handled correctly, are handled a little
more gracefully. That is to say, the library doesn't fail to open files
with filenames using characters outside the ASCII subset. I'm very
interested in any information as to the "right" way to handle filenames
of this sort.
- Files not containing a compressed section are handled properly, such as
.chw files. These files seem to contain information about compression,
but the information is invalid or empty. The library deals gracefully
with this now.
- Files compressed with different options were not being decompressed
properly. In particular, if the "reset interval" for the compressed
section was other than 2 block sizes, it could fail to read some of the
files.
- The caching system was improved slightly, in conjunction with this
previous bugfix.

After talking with the author Roy Keene, my patches were applied:

Changes:
* Require giblib 1.2.4 now.
* Applied large patch from Claes Nasten <pekdon@pekdon.net>
* Several tweaks to thumbnail.c including support for the "Thumbnail
Managing Standard" described at freedesktop.org. Thumbnails are cached in
a way which makes them accessible to other programs, under ~/.thumbnails
using md5sum filenames.
* He had to invoke libpng directly to write out the comments/tags required
by the spec, but that seems to be a trend with feh now so what the hell :p
* Nice patch from JC <jcm314@yahoo.com>
* Alongside the original --action option, adds --action1 through --action9,
allowing you to define multiple actions which can be run using the number
keys. Lets you set up a list of commands for organising images.
* New method for rotating jpegs - does a lossless jpeg rotation (thanks,
IJG) and preserves EXIF data, as requested by many users :)
* Fix minor documentation omissions (debian bug reports)
* Various warning fixes from Claes Nasten <pekdon@pekdon.net>
* Support full X geometry flags
* removed extraneous XFlush
* switched to global file list length (avoid recalculating it
constantly)

Changes:
* s/DEPENDS/BUILD_DEPENDS/ for grub and cdrecord.
* Don't use "j" flag in tar(1), it is not available on NetBSD 1.6.x,
use "z" flag instead.
* Replace harcoded tar with @TAR@ in the scripts.
* s/.tbz/.tgz/g

The main security vulnerabilities addressed in 1.3.33 are:
* CAN-2004-0940 (cve.mitre.org)
Fix potential buffer overflow with escaped characters in SSI tag string.
* CAN-2004-0492 (cve.mitre.org)
Reject responses from a remote server if sent an invalid
(negative) Content-Length.
New features
* Win32: Improve error reporting after a failed attempt to
spawn a piped log process or rewrite map process.
* Added new compile-time flag: UCN_OFF_HONOR_PHYSICAL_PORT. It
controls how UseCanonicalName Off determines the port value if
the client doesn't provide one in the Host header. If defined
during compilation, UseCanonicalName Off will use the physical
port number to generate the canonical name. If not defined, it
tries the current Port value followed by the default port for
the current scheme.
The following bugs were found in Apache 1.3.31 (or earlier) and
have been fixed in Apache 1.3.33:
* mod_rewrite: Fix query string handling for proxied URLs. PR 14518.
* mod_rewrite: Fix 0 bytes write into random memory position. PR 31036.
* mod_digest: Fix nonce string calculation since 1.3.31 which
would force re-authentication for every connection if
AuthDigestRealmSeed was not configured. PR 30920.
* Fix trivial bug in mod_log_forensic that caused the child to
seg fault when certain invalid requests were fired at it with
forensic logging is enabled. PR 29313.
* No longer breaks mod_dav, frontpage and others. Repair a
patch in 1.3.31 which prevented discarding the request body
for requests that will be keptalive but are not currently
keptalive. PR 29237.

Release notes:
Version 3.08 is a precautionary security release. There was a
potential buffer overrun in the networking code of the client that
is fixed with version 3.08. Note that to exploit this vulnerability,
a potential attacker would have to trick the client into contacting
a fake server rather than the actual SETI@home server. To our
knowledge, no SETI@home client has ever been attacked in this
manner.
The only NetBSD platform currently supported by 3.08 is NetBSD-sparc-1.6.1
and later. Update supported list for FreeBSD, OpenBSD, SunOS, and Linux
