2003-07-27Introduce the MPLAYER_DISABLE_DRIVERS variable, which holds a list of "drivers"jmmv1-5/+4
that are not wanted in the binary program. It is empty by default, so that all drivers are linked in to get a full featured binary package. Packages using this variable include mplayer and gmplayer. While building mencoder, disable all of these drivers, as they are not needed. Bump PKGREVISION. arts is now a enabled if not present in the variable. This detail closes PR pkg/21775 by Marc Recht.

We don't provide FIONREAD for /dev/audio, so use the seek field from AUDIO_GETINFO instead. XXX: by my calculations, the number of samples in seek should be multiplied by the sample size to get number of bytes to read, but this results in mencoder being very choppy, presumably because its blocking for audio. I've left the multiplication in the patch, commented out. The present patch works just fine, so probably my calculations are wrong. This bumps all of the mplayer variants, because -tv -dumpaudio might be used even with the players.

Vidix now can use svgalib's kernel helper instead of the buggy dha module, and is usable together with the SVGAlib. This version introduces experimental support for XMMS input (demuxer+codecs) plugins too, and support for mp3lame presets has been added. This release contains dozen of fixes for various problems reported by users, including ones related to DVD/VOB subtitles disappearing, mms:// streaming, and fullscreen switching under Metacity and KDE 3.1. libaf, the new audio filter layer, has been introduced. It does automatic formating, and samplerate and channel number conversion for less featureful soundcards. The new option -autosync should help with buggy soundcard drivers. Audio/video codec and output driver selection has been reworked. The code cleanup has continued, and memleaks are starting to be eliminated.
