2006-08-28 Brian Cameron <brian.cameron@sun.com>
* linc2/src/linc-connection.c: Patch to correct problem where
DHCP hostname changes caused login to block.
2006-08-16 Jules Colding <colding@omesc.com>
* src/orb/orb-core/corba-orb.c (ORBit_get_giop_recv_limit): Added
gtk-doc documentation.
2006-08-08 Brian Cameron <Brian.Cameron@sun.com>
* linc2/src/linc-protocols.c: Modify ORBLocalOnly test for TCP/IP
connections so that differences in the port number does not cause
the test to fail. Since the port number does not affect whether
the IP address is local, this should make the test work properly
on platforms where the access () function fills in the port value
that is being compared. On Solaris, this fixes a bug that causes
Java a11y to break, from an end-user perspective.
2006-08-07 Jules Colding <colding@omesc.com>
* configure.in (CFLAGS): Fix #147556
* acinclude.m4: Added AX_CFLAGS_GCC_OPTION

* Assertion failure in ISC BIND SIG query processing (CVE-2006-4095)
- Recursive servers
Queries for SIG records will trigger an assertion failure if more
than one RRset is returned. However exposure can be minimized by
restricting which sources can ask for recursion.
- Authoritative servers
If a nameserver is serving a RFC 2535 DNSSEC zone and is queried
for the SIG records where there are multiple RRsets, then the
named program will trigger an assertion failure when it tries
to construct the response.
* INSIST failure in ISC BIND recursive query handling code (CVE-2006-4096)
It is possible to trigger an INSIST failure by sending enough
recursive queries such that the response to the query arrives after
all the clients waiting for the response have left the recursion
queue. However exposure can be minimized by restricting which sources
can ask for recursion.

Pkgsrc changes:
- Added patch-ac to change the number of skipped online tests (still
incorrect).
Changes since version 0.57:
===========================
Feature: hooks for DLV support in Net::DNS::SEC
added hooks for DLV support which is/will be available in
Net::DNS::SEC as of subversion version 592 (Tests are done agains
the subversion number, not against the perl release version)
Net::DNS::SEC version 0.15 will have DLV support.
Partly Fixed rt.cpan.org 18940
djhale noticed a number of error conditions under which de
udp_connection in Nameserver dies. We now print a warning instead
of dying.
Fix rt.cpan.org 18958
Fixed typebyname croak for SIGZERO. Acknowledgements to djhale.
Optimize rt.cpan.org 11931
Hanno Stock optimized the method to get the list of available
interfaces in Win32. I have only done very rudimentary tests on
my Windows XP system.
Fix dependency on "CC" rt.cpan.org 19352
The Makefile.PL depended on availabliltity of "cc" and would bail
out on systems where gcc is exclusivly available. Thanks to Rob
Windsor for noticing and patching.
Fix compressed dnames in NAPTR/SRV
Clayton O'Neill noted that the the domain names in in the NAPTR
and SRV RRs rdata were subject to name compression which is not
conform the specs. Also see RFC 2782 and 2915.
Fix rt.cpan.org 18897
Zero-length rdata in TXT fixed (Acknowledgements to Roy Arends)
Fix rt.cpan.org 18785
SPF would not work unless the TXT RR was not loaded first. No
wonder, SPF fully inherits TXT and loading of TXT.pm is therefore a
prerequisit.
Fix rt.cpan.org 18713
Net::DNS::Resolver now deals gracefully with persistent sockets
that got disconnected. It will first try to connect again to the
socket and if that fails it will try to connect to the next
available nameserver. tcp_timeout() is the parameter that
determines how long to wait during a reconnect.
Fix rt.cpan.org 18268
Added reference to RFC in croak message for label length > 63 in
dn_comp().
Fix rt.cpan.org 18113
The inet6 tests contained another bug when online-tests were disabled.
Klaus Heinz discovered and provided a patch.

Fix build on NetBSD/sparc64 3.x: sync CPP symbols usage between
struct addrinfo definition and its usage in getaddrinfo().
While here define struct addrinfo's pad members the same way as in
NetBSD's /usr/include/netbsd.h and sync code in
lib/bind/irs/getaddrinfo.c:getaddrinfo().
This had been reported to bind9-bugs at isc dot org.

- If `@' is specified as an interface for prefix delegation, it is assumed
as a tunnel interface.
- Add experimental support for an IPv6 over an IPv4 tunnel using Netgraph.
The relevant options are -b and -U.
- Make an IPv6 over an IPv4 tunnel NAT friendly. If -n option is specified,
it is enabled. It requires some modification to ng_ksocket of server side.
- Add $up_command and $down_command to run at up/down.
- Add -B option to specify NAT port.

The following vulnerabilities have been fixed:
o The SCSI dissector could crash. Versions affected: 0.99.2.
o If Wireshark was compiled with ESP decryption support, the
IPsec ESP preference parser was susceptible to off-by-one
errors. Versions affected: 0.99.2.
o If the SSCOP dissector has a port range configured and the
SSCOP payload protocol is Q.2931, a malformed packet could
make the Q.2931 dissector use up available memory. No port
range is configured by default. Versions affected: 0.7.9 -
0.99.2.
The following bugs have been fixed:
o The VOIP call analysis feature could cause an assertion.
o The RTP analysis feature could freeze for an extended period.
o Selecting "Apply as Filter" wouldn't work for some tree items.
New and Updated Features
The following features are new (or have been significantly
updated) since the last release:
o The packet list context menu now includes a conversation
filter.

[ntpd.8] (ID sync only; section is not in portable man page)
we do not do -s in /etc/rc anymore. this is because, even if -s did
try to do it's job it would have to choose between two cases: 1. either
it would take a very long time to get the correct adjustment, thus,
if you are not currently on the net right, you wait a long time
(or must type ^C, which is ridiculous)
2. ntpd could be modified to "abort early", but then would not meet the
promise made by -s in the manual page (note: it does not say that it
"tries")
therefore, -s and -S must become user choices. Sorry. This same
choice is made in lots of other places
- (dtucker) [LICENCE configure.ac openbsd-compat/Makefile.in
openbsd-compat/bsd-setres[ug]id.c openbsd-compat/openbsd-compat.h
removed openbsd-compat/uidswap.c] Use setres[ug]id interface on all
platforms. Currently only implements the case where ruid == euid == suid
which is all ntpd uses (may be extended later).
- (dtucker) [Makefile.in] Use example ntpd.conf from srcdir so "make install"
works for the srcdir != builddir.
- (dtucker) [openbsd-compat/{bsd-poll.c,bsd-setresgid.c,bsd-setresuid.c}]
Add CVS Ids
20050629
- (dtucker) [configure.ac openbsd-compat/{Makefile.in,errx.c,verrx.c,
openbsd-compat.h}] Add errx(), in anticipation of it being used in ntpd.
- (dtucker) [INSTALL] Add a bit more detail on the privsep user and group.
20050627
- (dtucker) [README] Make it clear that the footnote only applies to old
Solaris systems, based on feedback from oyvind at repvik.org.
- (dtucker) [INSTALL] Point out that --with-ssl-dir is only used if
we're not using the builtin arc4random.
20050626
- (dtucker) [INSTALL] Add installation directions, lack thereof pointed out
by oyvind at repvik.org.
- (dtucker) [Makefile.in configure.ac] Have configure find a yacc that works.
- (dtucker) [Makefile.in] Make check for existing ntp user more specific.
20050619
- (dtucker) [openbsd-compat/bsd-poll.c] Remove code left over from debugging.
20050508
- (dtucker) [configure.ac] Check that required programs are found. Pointed
out by jj at it.su.se.
- (dtucker) [contrib/redhat/openntpd.spec] If ntp user already exists,
set its homedir to the chroot dir. From wijnand at nedbsd.nl.
- (dtucker) [contrib/redhat/openntpd.spec] Always create privsep dir
even if ntp user already exists. Also from Wijnand.
20050530
- (dtucker) [Makefile.in configure.ac mdoc2man.awk] Add support for other
man page formats (man and catman), based on OpenSSH's.
- (dtucker) [Makefile.in openbsd-compat/Makefile.in] Make out-of-tree
builds work.
- (dtucker) [Makefile.in openbsd-compat/Makefile.in] Minor cleanups.
- (dtucker) [LICENCE] Add Anil Madhavapeddy to atomicio bits.
- (dtucker) [version.h] Set version to -current.
20050529
- (dtucker) [openbsd-compat/atomicio.c openbsd-compat/atomicio.h
openbsd-compat/bsd-arc4random.c] Sync OpenBSD ssize_t -> size_t atomicio
change by avsm@, update rnd code to new interface.
20050528
- (dtucker) [openbsd-compat/bsd-poll.c] Portability and correctness fixes:
- Handle fd == -1 case.
- Handle fractional second timeouts correctly (not used in ntpd).
- Allow any negative timeout to mean INFTIM.
- (dtucker) [configure.ac] For AC_CHECK_HEADERS() and AC_CHECK_FUNCS() have
one entry per line to make it easier to merge changes.
- (dtucker) [defines.h includes.h openbsd-compat/bsd-poll.c] Copyright bump.
- (dtucker) [CREDITS Makefile.in includes.h version.h] Add CVS Id.
- (dtucker) [openbsd-compat/asprintf.c] char const -> const char, matches
OpenBSD 1.10 -> 1.11.
