2009-03-20Simply and speed up buildlink3.mk files and processing.joerg1-13/+6
This changes the buildlink3.mk files to use an include guard for the recursive include. The use of BUILDLINK_DEPTH, BUILDLINK_DEPENDS, BUILDLINK_PACKAGES and BUILDLINK_ORDER is handled by a single new variable BUILDLINK_TREE. Each buildlink3.mk file adds a pair of enter/exit marker, which can be used to reconstruct the tree and to determine first level includes. Avoiding := for large variables (BUILDLINK_ORDER) speeds up parse time as += has linear complexity. The include guard reduces system time by avoiding reading files over and over again. For complex packages this reduces both %user and %sys time to half of the former time.

2008-03-11Put back a couple of IRIX conditionals the way they used to behave,tnn1-2/+2
e.g. match IRIX 5.x but not 6.x. Some of these may indeed apply to 6.x too, but let's be conservative. PR pkg/38224.

2007-04-21Fix mis-detect netbsd/hp700 as HP-UX.obache2-8/+8
Patch provided by David H. Gutteridge in PR 35240. Ok by tnn@, no affect HP-UX.

2006-12-12Replace mk/bsd.prefs.mk includes with bsd.fast.prefs.mk includes.joerg1-2/+2
The redundant parsing of bsd.prefs.mk is mostly avoided now and parse time e.g. for x11/kdebase3 gets reduced by up to 10%.

This package contained several Makefile.am patches but then proceeded to ignore all of them by touching all of the Makefile.in's. Unfortunately those patches were there for a reason! Correctly packages on solaris now.

2006-09-24When linking against libwww built with socks4 or socks5 option,joerg1-1/+19
the corresponding buildlinks have to be present as well. Get the option libwww was built with to decide whether to do that. Inspired by and fixing PR 28412.
2006-07-27Rename "SITES_* to "SITES.*" for file-specific lists of sites from whichjlam1-2/+2
to fetch the file. This completes the renaming described in revision 1.1799 of bsd.pkg.mk.
2006-07-08Change the format of BUILDLINK_ORDER to contain depth information as well,jlam1-2/+2
and add a new helper target and script, "show-buildlink3", that outputs a listing of the buildlink3.mk files included as well as the depth at which they are included. For example, "make show-buildlink3" in fonts/Xft2 displays: zlib fontconfig iconv zlib freetype2 expat freetype2 Xrender renderproto
2006-07-08Track information in a new variable BUILDLINK_ORDER that informs usjlam1-1/+2
of the order in which buildlink3.mk files are (recursively) included by a package Makefile.
2006-04-12Aligned the last line of the buildlink3.mk files with the first line, sorillig1-2/+2
that they look nicer.

RECOMMENDED is removed. It becomes ABI_DEPENDS. BUILDLINK_RECOMMENDED.foo becomes BUILDLINK_ABI_DEPENDS.foo. BUILDLINK_DEPENDS.foo becomes BUILDLINK_API_DEPENDS.foo. BUILDLINK_DEPENDS does not change. IGNORE_RECOMMENDED (which defaulted to "no") becomes USE_ABI_DEPENDS which defaults to "yes". Added to obsolete.mk checking for IGNORE_RECOMMENDED. I did not manually go through and fix any aesthetic tab/spacing issues. I have tested the above patch on DragonFly building and packaging subversion and pkglint and their many dependencies. I have also tested USE_ABI_DEPENDS=no on my NetBSD workstation (where I have used IGNORE_RECOMMENDED for a long time). I have been an active user of IGNORE_RECOMMENDED since it was available. As suggested, I removed the documentation sentences suggesting bumping for "security" issues. As discussed on tech-pkg. I will commit to revbump, pkglint, pkg_install, createbuildlink separately. Note that if you use wip, it will fail! I will commit to pkgsrc-wip later (within day).
2006-03-04Point MAINTAINER to pkgsrc-users@NetBSD.org in the case where nojlam1-2/+2
developer is officially maintaining the package. The rationale for changing this from "tech-pkg" to "pkgsrc-users" is that it implies that any user can try to maintain the package (by submitting patches to the mailing list). Since the folks most likely to care about the package are the folks that want to use it or are already using it, this would leverage the energy of users who aren't developers.

2005-11-03Security fix for SA17119:salo3-3/+528
"A vulnerability was found in W3C Libwww, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service). The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the "HTBoundary_put_block()" function when processing multipart MIME data. This may be exploited to cause an illegal memory access past the end of the input buffer via specially crafted multipart MIME data. Successful exploitation can potentially cause an application that uses Libwww to crash." http://secunia.com/advisories/17119/ https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=159597 Bump PKGREVISION. in the process. (More information on tech-pkg.) Bump PKGREVISION and BUILDLINK_DEPENDS of all packages using libtool and installing .la files. Bump PKGREVISION (only) of all packages depending directly on the above via a buildlink3 include.
2004-09-22Mechanical changes to package PLISTs to make use of LIBTOOLIZE_PLIST.jlam1-97/+1
All library names listed by *.la files no longer need to be listed in the PLIST, e.g., instead of: lib/libfoo.a lib/libfoo.la lib/libfoo.so lib/libfoo.so.0 lib/libfoo.so.0.1 one simply needs: lib/libfoo.la and bsd.pkg.mk will automatically ensure that the additional library names are listed in the installed package +CONTENTS file. Also make LIBTOOLIZE_PLIST default to "yes".

2004-03-21Fix build on sparc64 with gcc2.snj1-1/+4
2004-03-18Fix serious bug where BUILDLINK_PACKAGES wasn't being ordered properlyjlam1-3/+2
by moving the inclusion of buildlink3.mk files outside of the protected region. This bug would be seen by users that have set PREFER_PKGSRC or PREFER_NATIVE to non-default values. BUILDLINK_PACKAGES should be ordered so that for any package in the list, that package doesn't depend on any packages to the left of it in the list. This ordering property is used to check for builtin packages in the correct order. The problem was that including a buildlink3.mk file for <pkg> correctly ensured that <pkg> was removed from BUILDLINK_PACKAGES and appended to the end. However, since the inclusion of any other buildlink3.mk files within that buildlink3.mk was in a region that was protected against multiple inclusion, those dependencies weren't also moved to the end of BUILDLINK_PACKAGES.
