From f16dfe1d7fd98329e277de7469cad5656f2f4876 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: uebayasi Date: Thu, 19 Sep 2002 01:51:24 +0000 Subject: Initial import of libevent-0.6. The libevent API provides a mechanism to execute a callback function when a specific event occurs on a file descriptor or after a timeout has been reached. libevent is meant to replace the asynchronous event loop found in event driven network servers. An application just needs to call event_dispatch() and can then add or remove events dynamically without having to change the event loop. Currently, libevent supports kqueue(2) and select(2). Support for poll(2) and /dev/poll is planned. The internal event mechanism is completely independent of the exposed event API, and a simple update of libevent can provide this new functionality without having to redesign the server applications. --- devel/libevent/DESCR | 14 ++++++++++++++ devel/libevent/Makefile | 14 ++++++++++++++ devel/libevent/PLIST | 4 ++++ devel/libevent/distinfo | 4 ++++ 4 files changed, 36 insertions(+) create mode 100644 devel/libevent/DESCR create mode 100644 devel/libevent/Makefile create mode 100644 devel/libevent/PLIST create mode 100644 devel/libevent/distinfo diff --git a/devel/libevent/DESCR b/devel/libevent/DESCR new file mode 100644 index 00000000000..40636d31a4c --- /dev/null +++ b/devel/libevent/DESCR @@ -0,0 +1,14 @@ +The libevent API provides a mechanism to execute a callback function when a +specific event occurs on a file descriptor or after a timeout has been +reached. + +libevent is meant to replace the asynchronous event loop found in event +driven network servers.
